Paralympians Hope to Share a Meal with President Duma Boko

Members of Botswana’s Paralympics team who recently competed at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, India, have expressed a heartfelt wish, to share lunch with President Duma Boko.

The athletes, who represented the nation with pride and resilience on the international stage, said the gesture would not only serve as an appreciation of their efforts but also as motivation to continue raising the country’s flag high in global competitions.

They emphasized that a meeting with the President would give them an opportunity to share their experiences, challenges, and aspirations for the growth of para sports in Botswana. Many highlighted that the journey to New Delhi was not an easy one, but their determination and love for sport kept them going.

A luncheon with the President, they said, would symbolize national recognition and inclusivity, showing that the achievements of athletes living with disabilities are equally celebrated and valued.

Botswana’s participation in the World Para Athletics Championships has once again showcased the country’s growing talent and the need for continued investment in adaptive sports development. The athletes hope their request reaches the President’s desk, marking the beginning of a stronger bond between para athletes and the nation’s leadership.
